Libretto by Felice Romani, based on the ballet-pantomina from La Somnambule, ou l'arrivée d'un nouveau seigneur by Eugène Scribe.
First performed at the Teatro Cercano in Milan on 6 March 1831.
First performed at the Teatro Real on 10 December 1850.
New production at the Teatro Real, in co-production with the New National Theatre Tokyo, the Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona and the Teatro Massimo di Palermo.
